Since its inception on June 4, 2010, Corazon de Dahlia’s Center in Saylla, Peru has had 5 volunteers, each of whom has made a tremendous different in the community.
Most recently, Susannah Kricker returned from a second trip to Corazon de Dahlia’s center in Saylla. Excited about reuniting with the kids she had bonded with during her former months of volunteering, Susannah described how amazing it was to see how much the kids had learned in the short time she’d been away. She shared that the added staff has helped to create a much more organized and productive atmosphere, and that kids are attending our center not only from the local school, but also from other schools in the vicinity. Word has spread about our program, and kids love to attend. Our age range has expanded to now serve kids ages 5-12.
Dahlia Graham is leaving for Peru this Saturday! She is thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the Peruvian staff, get to know the kids, and see the program in action. Dahlia’s suitcases will be filled with books and educational games that have so graciously been donated by supporters in the past months. Stay tuned for live updates from Peru!
