Hola, yesterday was my last day at The Center. It was very sweet. Despite my warnings not to, Laura set aside a little time for the kids to enjoy some fruit and yogurt and take take turns saying thanks.  She also gave me a wonderful, small drawing/writing note book. Here are two links to two of the kid’s little speeches.
Alicia is wearing a chompa that I wore for the Sallya Independence parade last Monday. I needed to wear a fucsea-colored top, but of course they don’t use that color for men’s clothes. I received quite a few stares and even some comments. The things I do for Corazón de Dahlia!
This past weekend I went for a hike in the mountains that you see when you look out the windows of The Center. It was great, although in many parts there was no trail so I just had to walk through the brush and hope nothing bit me or there were no unseen edges. I love that kind of hiking. Anyway, the views of town were great, you could see really far down the valley in either direction.
I will cherish my time working with Corazon de Dahlia forever and have learned a tremendous amount from the staff. And mostly, I will miss the open hearts, easy laughter and sweet hugs of the kids!
Thanks for the opportunity!
