The Drivers are Loco!

Last night I took a taxi (the tiny Tico kind) from La Plaza de Armas to my Peruvian family’s house. Bumpy and terrifying as I remembered! No regard for stop signs or lanes. It’s like a game of chicken at the intersections. On the bright side, the taxi driver was very friendly. He asked me about the U.S. and what a taxi driver makes. I don’t actually know, but I don’t imagine it being a much brighter future to leave behind your culture and family to drive a cab in NYC. Then again, I don’t know what I would do in his position.
